The Director of Political Affairs at the Vice-President’s office, Manaf Ibrahim has been axed from his position effective yesterday, September 30, 2019.

The letter which is addressed to Manaf Ibrahim reminds him of his obligation to uphold the confidentiality agreement he signed during his appointment.
Below is a copy of the sacked letter.
Manaf Ibrahim has been in the news for sometime now over his decision to contest the Asawase New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries of which the Ashanti Regional Executives of the party in a unanimous decision projected the current Municipal Cheif Executive of Asokore Mampong, Alidu Seidu to represent the constituency unopposed in their primaries.
The decision is under contention in a Court of Law by a youth group in the party who describe the ‘imposition’ as an illegality.
Meanwhile, the A/R executives of the party have officially endorsed the candidature of Alidu Seidu as the parliamentary candidate of the NPP in the Asawase constituency ahead of the 2020 general elections.
Alidu Seidu will once again come up against the Minority Chief Whip in parliament, Hon. Muntaku Mubarak who has occupied the Asawase seat since its creation.
It is yet to be known if Manaf Ibrahim will contest the seat as an independent candidate.
