The Ashanti Regional caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken a whip at the President, Nana Akufo Addo over what they describe as inspection of ‘plagarised’ and petty projects in his just ended tour of the Ashanti Region.

At a press conference organised by the deputy communication officer of the party – Abass Nurudeen, the NDC called on the president to give proof of projects done in the region under his watch.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the press, we in the NDC thought President Akufo-Addo was an expert
only in the plagiarism of speeches, we never knew he plagiarizes projects too. A Timber
Processing Factory that was established in 2010, MIRO FORESTRY COMPANY LIMITED, in the Sekyere Afram plains was recommissioned by President Akufo-Addo under the 1D1F program. The President must immediately answer the following questions in his attempt to expropriate this particular project:

How on earth can a private company that was established in 2010 all of a sudden metamorphose into a 1D1F program that supposedly started in 2017?
What has become of the promise by President Akufo-Addo to build a brand-new Corn Flakes Factory for the people of Sekyere Afram Plains?”

The NDC stated emphatically that the region has been abandoned after voting massively for the New Patriotic Party to win power.

“The President’s tour has ended, and inhabitants of the Ashanti Region are still
struggling to figure out exactly what he inspected. In the estimation of the people of the Ashanti Region, these are projects that should ordinarily be within the domain of Assembly Members and never ever catch Presidential attention. After three years in government, the people of the Ashanti Region would not be asking for too much, if they demand from President Akufo-Addo legacy and life-impacting projects.”

Leadership of the party however showered praises on former President John Mahama for the life – impacting projects done for Asanteman in the 4years” and challenged the Akufo addo lead government to do same.
